Ayasofya Hotel , Istanbul - Turkey
The Ayasofya Hotel in Istanbul was built in the 19th century as 3 separate private houses. These three houses were built in a traditional Ottoman style, using wood. This had caused the collapse of these houses in the 100 years following the construction. In 1990, these three houses were restored and opened as a historic hotel. The Ayasofya Hotel now welcomed visitors from all over the world with perfect Turkish hospitality. An Australian woman from Melbourne called Gaye Reeves took over the hotel in April 2009. Since then, the hotel has seen significant improvements in the comfort of the rooms and overall improvements in the old Ottoman building.
