In recent years Hurghada has become a welcoming and desirable city: many tourists choose it as their holiday destination in Egypt.
The city's airport is very busy, connected to Rome, Milan and Naples by low-cost airlines. It is about 10 km from the centre, which can be reached by private transfer or taxi (remember to haggle over the price) but often the hotels themselves provide tourists with the convenient private transfer service.
It is possible to find luxury resorts and villas, but also more affordable hotels and accommodation. Many of these establishments organise various activities, such as boat trips and excursions, which can be purchased as packages.
