What's the sea like in Malta? On the island of Malta, you'll find sandy beaches and cliffs but the most beautiful sea in the archipelago can be found on the wild islands of Comino and Gozo. Here, the colour of the water is spectacular, thanks also to the rocky beaches that plunge into the turquoise waters.

Malta's most beautiful and accessible sandy beaches can be found in the northern part of the island. Elsewhere, you will find rocky beaches and deep waters perfect for diving. Ghajn Tuffieha is one of Malta's most beautiful beaches. It is located close to the better known Golden Bay but is rather isolated, lonely and wild.

To reach it, one has to descend 180 steps, which discourages many bathers.

Malta: what to see

Sea in Malta in September and October

Can you go to sea in Malta in September and October? We have no doubts, these are definitely the best months to enjoy the sea in the archipelago.

First of all, the beaches are uncrowded and you can enjoy them in blissful solitude. In these months the temperatures are still high, but they do not reach the 40° of July and August. Thanks to the currents and the sea breeze, you can visit the island and participate in excursions without suffering. In detail, the temperatures in September are properly summery with peaks of heat in the first half of the month; in October you will find pleasant temperatures with temperatures hovering around 25/26°.

What's the weather like in Malta? Winters in Malta are very mild. Only in the case of major cold spells do temperatures drop even on Malta and the other islands. From November to April the weather is erratic. On days without wind and clouds it can be very warm, but disturbances can be frequent. From April to the end of October, on the other hand, the weather is a guarantee of sunny days. Summer proper runs from June to September.
