What are the most beautiful islands in the Maldives?

Ari Atoll, a diver's paradise

If you dream of observing exceptional marine life, Ari Atoll is the ideal place. The marine fauna and flora are absolutely remarkable. Composed of a dozen islands and islets, this atoll is one of the most popular in the Maldives for diving but also for relaxation... the fine sandy beaches stretch as far as the eye can see.

Baa Atoll, the postcard Maldives

Since June 2011, Baa Atoll has been classified as a UNESCO biosphere reserve. Here again, diving enthusiasts will be in for a treat as the site offers exceptional biodiversity. Manta rays, whale sharks, coral, palm trees and fine sand... you won't want to leave.

Hadahaa, the round island

The Maldives has a number of island hotels and Hadahaa is certainly one of the most spectacular. This small, round island in Huvadhoo Atoll is now operated by the Hyatt hotel chain, which offers a luxury resort that is perfectly integrated into the island's abundant vegetation.

Moofushi, the kingdom of big game fishing

Moofushi is another island hotel where luxury and pleasure reign. While the island will obviously delight all those who dream of an exotic holiday with their feet in the water or swimming with dolphins, it is also a paradise for big game fishing enthusiasts. According to Maldivian fishing customs, you will leave by boat in the middle of the night for an unforgettable expedition.

Filitheyo Island

This small island of 900m x 500m belongs to the North Nilandhe Atoll. The triangular shape of Filitheyo is one of the most popular islands in the Maldives for snorkeling. Accessible to all, and requiring only minimal equipment, snorkeling is an ideal way to discover the beautiful reefs located right next to the beaches.

Vihamanaafushi Island

Vihamanaafushi Island, located in the North Malé Atoll, is of particular historical significance. It is the burial place of the President of the Maldives, Mohamed Amin Didi, who died in 1954. And it is also on the island that the country's very first resort was inaugurated in 1972, the Kurumba Village. But Vihamanaafushi is also home to endless white sandy beaches and a breathtakingly beautiful turquoise sea.

Villingili Island

There are four islands named Villingili in the Maldives. One in Ari Atoll, the second in Huvadhu Atoll, the third in Addu Atoll, and the last one in the Malé subdivision. The one we are interested in is located in Addu Atoll. It is in the heart of this island of greenery and fine sand that the natural highest point of the Maldives is located, Mount Villingili, which rises to... 5.1 m!

The island of Kudafolhudhoo

Like Moofushi and Hadahaa, Kudafolhudhoo is an island hotel with a large complex of rooms and bungalows. Located 25 minutes by seaplane from Male International Airport, the island offers everything travelers could wish for endless beaches and beautiful starry nights. The island is also home to a fascinating fairy-tale fig tree dating back to the 19th century.

Dhaalu Atoll and Velavaru Island

Dhaalu is made up of 56 islands of which only 7 are inhabited. Among them, are two islands-hotels very appreciated by the holidaymakers: the island of Vilu Reef and the island of Velavaru. The latter, nicknamed Turtle Island, is particularly spectacular.
